  • What is your cell phone policy?

    To ensure a relaxing atmosphere for all of our guests, we politely request that you disable the ringing on pagers and cell phones. Our professional staff is here to make sure you receive the best service in an enjoyable manner. Please contact us with any comments if you were not satisfied with your service in any way.

  • Should I tip for my services? What's normal?

    Leaving gratuities for work well done seems to be the norm, but of course, is optional. Most tips range from 15%-20% of the price of the service provided.

  • What is your Cancellation Policy?

    Please observe the courtesy of cancelling or rescheduling reservations 24 hours in advance for our salon. For spa appointments please observe a 48 hour cancellation policy. Spa reservations not cancelled prior to 48 hours, we reserve the right to charge 50% of service. All no shows will be charged full price. We will do our best to accommodate your needs should an emergency arise. All rewards points will be vacated upon a no show. It is our desire to work with all clients. If something beyond your control happens, please allow the front desk to know and we will get back to you within 24 hours.

  • What forms of payment do you accept?

    We accept Visa, MasterCard and Discover, personal checks and of course Craig Berns Gift Cards and instant gift certificates.  Gratuities may be given as cash, charge or check. Prices subject to change without notice. In certain instances, our fee schedule may change before our menu does. Our website however, will always have our current prices. If you have any concerns, please ask our customer service representative while booking your appointment. If you have an expired gift certificate or card, it is our desire to work with all clients. In some instances, we cannot honor expired propmtions simply due to conflicting newer promotions. We regret that we cannot always extend the dates. Please call 262.646.7406 to be sure.

  • When do certificates and cards actually expire legally?

    This is a 2 part answer.

    Gift cards and certificates that are purchased in exchange for money expire in 5 years according to the new laws.

    Promotions and certificates that are purchased and are discounted in any way or are given away as a thank you gift or marketing tool do not fall under the new 5 year law and expire in one year. The reason for the lesser timing is to enable our salon spa to continually donate to all non profit organizations in our lake country area.

  • Here are some common spa service terminology you should know:

    Body Wrap: This is any treatment that involves the wrapping of the body in a hot blanket, foil, or wrap in order to stimulate circulation, warm the muscles, activate de-bloating through perspiration, or increase absorption of topically applied ingredients. Treatments involving body wraps are not recommended for individuals who are pregnant, have high blood pressure, are diabetic, have a history of fainting, or are on certain medications. Remember 1) to advise your therapist of any medical conditions, and 2) to pre-and-re-hydrate on the day of your treatment to avoid excessive water loss.

    Essential Oils: active oils pressed from the leaves and flowers of certain plants, flowers, herbs, etc. These oils have calming, healing, regenerating, moisturizing, detoxifying, and anti-oxidant effects.

    Exfoliation: the removal of the outside layer of skin cells.  Its purpose is to smooth, resurface, refine, and stimulate the skin's surface, and perfect the appearance.

    Extractions: manual cleaning of sebum, debris, and dead cells out of the pores.

    Paraffin: is a warm wax that has been used for years in physical therapy treatments because of its ability to increase circulation. Paraffin goes on warm and quickly cools, forming a vacuum on the surface of the skin that improves dry and dehydrated, aging and lackluster complexions.

    T-zone: is the oily area that generally extends across the forehead, down the nose and onto the chin of most complexions. It is the reason for 1) those pore-strips, 2) the advent of blotting papers, and 3) 99% of the time, 'powdering one's nose.

    Waxing: is the fast removal of hair from any area of the body or face with a slightly sticky beeswax or soy based substance that shrink wraps the hair and pulls it from the root, without pulling on the skin. Not recommended for Retin-A or Accutane users (or within 6 months of use), or individuals with sunburns.

  • What should I know about my first facial?

    We recommend consulting with your aesthetician before you begin your treatment to discuss your options, new offerings, and what might best benefit you. Please let her know if you prefer more massage, if you want your pores thoroughly purged, or if you really crave a combination. It's easier for us to meet your needs if you tell us your desires from the get-go. Your aesthetician will also make you aware of any extra charges associated with additional services that you might request. Our Spa Service Menu is always available for your price checks.

    Your facial is the first, but not the only, step toward seamless skin care. At Craig Berns Spa, we're big on follow up, so please feel free to call with any further questions. Our aesthetician can answer any questions you might have on the what, when, where, and why of your recommended regimen. Your skin needs between-facial protection.

  • How early should I arrive for spa services?

    We recommend you arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled reservation to allow yourself ample time to check in, change and relax while enjoying complimentary refreshments. Please note that late arrivals will have treatment times adjusted accordingly to ensure timeliness for next guest and charged for full treatment originally reserved.

  • What should I wear for my spa service?

    The gown or robe we provide is appropriate spa attire. For massages, wear whatever makes you comfortable. You will be draped with sheets or towels all the time, but what is most important is your comfort. It's really up to you.

  • Can I apply make-up after a facial?

    Make-up shouldn't cause any post-facial problems, but you should try to keep your skin clean at least for a couple of hours. Otherwise, make-up as you wish.

  • I forgot to book a waxing. Can it be done during my facial?

    It never hurts to ask. Once you get into the room with your aesthetician, let her know your needs. If she has time, she will absolutely accommodate you.
